About this event
Explore how composers use the orchestra to bring stories to life without words. Using the tale of Cinderella as a guide, students discover how melody, rhythm, tempo and orchestral color create characters, settings and emotions. The program is led by Cleveland Orchestra Assistant Conductor Taichi Fukumura. It features music by Rossini, Ravel, Jessie Montgomery, Haydn, Dvořák, Saint-Saëns, Tchaikovsky and Smetana.
This Nord Education Concert is a school-day performance in Mandel Concert Hall at Severance Music Center. Concerts are Wednesday–Friday, Nov. 11–13, at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. each day. Tickets are free for schools and must be reserved. Visit clevelandorchestra.com for details.
